Programs and Services Offered
Young Entrepreneur Program – 8 weeks
o Guides youth through creating a business, implementing it, and evaluating results. This is an 8 week program that teaches students ages 12-18 how to set up and run their own business. Students are encouraged to start their own business through the program and mentors help then with the obstacles they may encounter. Learn how to legally start your own business, step by step business panning, getting the word out through marketing, building basic websites, business cards, and a lot more.
$25 Per Student | 15-20 students per session
Youth Leadership Training & 5 week Life Skills Program
o Key to being successful in any aspect of our lives is living in alignment with our passions and purpose. The Life Skills program teaches youth about responsibility, goal setting, understanding themselves, serving others in the community, and fun social events that encourage positive interaction. EFL uses a variety of principles that enable students to understand their own personality strengths, leadership styles, and teamwork abilities as part of a multi-culturally age. Events include outdoor activities, community outreach and service, mentoring others, workshops, and other interactive events.
$50 Per Student | 10-15 students per session
Mentoring Program
o Youth are matched with college students and professionals to be mentored on life, academics, and goal setting. EFL knows that the youth of today have a lot to offer so they are set up to mentor “up” by teaching and mentoring older professionals about today’s social media, technology, and share their knowledge about current youth events.
o We strive to connect professionals with young adults to become mentors for high school students. We also believe that the youth will provide great knowledge to professional that will create a win-win a great Mentor-Mentee program.
§ Sponsored by the community and business members | 1 hour a week for a year
Volunteer and Service Leadership Program
o Youth and community members are connected with local organizations or schools that need assistance with promoting events, serving others, fundraising, and other types of community involvement. The program is centered around service leadership that encourages reflection about why we serve and help others and the impact it has on others and the community.
§ Sponsored by the community and business members | $5-10 applicable donation
Youth Entertainment Events
o Coffee House Events, Art Showcasing, Movie Nights, Gaming Tournaments, and other fun social events are promoted by EFL and are hosted in various venues in the community.
§ Estimate of $3 fee per participant to support food and event

NEW and Innovative Electronic Portfolio and Resume Service
Stressed about the Senior Culminating Project??? EFL provides students with a web based application that’s easy and simple to build their own portfolio and share it electronically. Students learn how to reflect on their life experience to capture their accomplishments in an electronic form that can be used for their culminating project, applying to college and scholarships, and applying for jobs.

Leadership Retreats
A monthly Youth Leadership Retreat for high school and middle school students focuses on Leadership Development through fun activities that teach and empower youth. They learn about self and teamwork. We are partnered with Bellingham's UpFront Theater that helps teach some of the sessions. These retreats also emphasize the importance of community service with the understanding that we can only thrive in a world that is healthy. The health of our communities is dependent on our commitment to them.
